Jennifer Lynne Hurt, 60, of Lawrenceburg passed away Sunday, March 15, 2026, with her loving family by her side. Jennifer was born on Wednesday, December 8, 1965, in Hamilton, Ohio; daughter of Edwin and Gladys (Hacker) Hurt. Jennifer worked in the mortgage industry where she loved to help people increase their credit scores to put their families in homes. Jennifer was a member of the Trinity Christian Center in Lawrenceburg and chaplain for the Eagles in Lawrenceburg. She enjoyed flowers, crafting, making jewelry, and collecting gemstones. She loved going on vacations, traveling, going on cruises, and spending time at the beach, especially in Hawaii. Most of all Jennifer loved her family, friends, and especially her grandchildren who always called her “Daw.”
Jennifer will be missed by her husband Shawn Sexton of Lawrenceburg; sons Jason (Sarah) Young of Batesville, Cody Sexton of Denver, Colorado, and Devon Sexton of Biloxi, Mississippi; daughters Cydney (Steve Hall) Hayes of Guilford, Jessica (Corey Dicenzo) Young of Liberty, Morgan Hayes of Lawrenceburg; sister Lisa Keehan of Cincinnati; and 8 grandchildren.
Jennifer was preceded in death by her parents Edwin and Gladys Hurt; brother John Hurt; and sister Lydia Hurt.
Family and friends may gather in remembering Jennifer from 5:00-7:00 PM, Thursday, March 19, 2026, at the Filter-DeVries-Moore Funeral Home in Dillsboro. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, March 20, 2026, also at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. Memorials may be given in honor of Jennifer to the Christmas Fund through the Eagles in Lawrenceburg.
