Jeffrey A. Ficklin, 47, of Madison passed away Monday, November 18, 2019 at his home. He was born at the Kings Daughters Hospital in Madison on April 4, 1972 the son of Donald and Eva Sproessig Ficklin. Survivors include two brothers Tim (Carrie) Ficklin of Rising Sun, and Robert Ficklin of Palmyra; nephews Dustin Whiteford and Taylor Ficklin, nieces Katelynne Whiteford and Sophia Ficklin, and great-nephew Dallas Whiteford. He was preceded in death by his parents. Jeff was a 1990 graduate of South Ripley High School and was currently employed with Nucor Steel at Ghent, Kentucky where he worked in quality control. He was a former employee of Sentry Tubing in Madison, the Jefferson County Correctional Facility, and had worked as a Reserve Deputy for the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department. Jeff was a member of the Holton United Methodist Church, a former member of the Indiana National Guard, and had been active in Big Brothers/ Big Sisters in Jefferson County. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Saturday, November 23rd at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Pastor Joseph Hart of the Bible Baptist Church in Greendale officiating. Burial will be in the Holton Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 5pm to 8pm. Memorials may be given to Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Jefferson County in care of the funeral home.
