(Osgood, IN) – The Jac-Cen-Del Community School Corporation (JCD) has ratified the master teacher contract for the 2023-2025 school years.
The contract was officially ratified by the JCD School Board during a special meeting in November.
The highlight of the contract is substantial pay increases for teachers and fixing a broken salary scale which makes pay competitive at all levels with surrounding school districts.
By the end of the two-year contract, which expires at the conclusion of the 2024-25 school year, teachers will have seen average increases in salary of approximately 15%; 12% in corporation contributions to health care, and 15% in extracurricular activity stipends.
“The goal of Jac-Cen-Del Community Schools is to be a leader in teacher pay and retention and this first step will go a long way in accomplishing this goal,” said Superintendent Sam Melton. “I also want to thank the Jac-Cen-Del School Board and the Jac-Cen-Del Educators Association for their work on this two-year contract.”
