Rita J. Jaisle

Rita Jean (Johnson) Jaisle entered eternal life on December 9, 2023. She was 81. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard F. Jaisle, her parents, Hubert A. and Hazel L. (Maples) Johnson, and her siblings, Gary and Donna Johnson. She is survived by her children, Emily (Scott) Voegele, Maria (Thomas) Keefe, Daniel (Tracy) Jaisle, and Andrew (Sarah) Jaisle, along with her grandchildren, Jacob and Caroline Voegele, Anna and Elizabeth Keefe, John and Grace Jaisle, and Will and Drew Jaisle, and her sister, Janet (Johnson) Samples.

Rita was born November 8, 1942, in Milan, IN, and graduated from North Dearborn High School in 1960 and The Christ Hospital School of Nursing in Cincinnati, OH in 1963. She married Richard F. Jaisle on September 5, 1964, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Harrison, OH. She worked as a nurse at Christ Hospital, and then at the Sisters of St Francis in Oldenburg, IN until retirement. She was an active parishoner at Holy Family Catholic Church in Oldenburg and a working member of the Batesville Beautification League.

Rita enjoyed caring for her yard and home, reading, stitching, and working challenging puzzles. She was an avid and competitive sports fan, following Indiana University basketball and the Cincinnati Bengals and Reds, and she loved to analyze the teams and players with anyone.

Rita especially loved spending time with her family. She celebrated birthdays and milestones without fail, and enjoyed preparing for holidays and gatherings when all were home. She was the best babysitter, keeping detailed notes when caring for grandchildren. She also loved attending activities and events; grandparent days, First Communions and Confirmations, graduations, musical performances, soccer, baseball and football games, and cross-country meets. She was so proud of all of her children, sons and daughters-in-law, and especially, her grandchildren.

Rita cherished her sister and her dear friends, and they all shared and listened to family stories, concerns, and hopes over walks, lunches, or dinners.
