Janice Eileen Simon, 60, of Osgood passed away at 9:50 a.m., Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Major Health Partners in Shelbyville. She was born at Batesville on May 18, 1963, the daughter of Cletus and Eileen Thole Wagner. She was married to Michael Simon on July 12, 1986 and he survives. Other survivors include her mother Eileen Wagner of Osgood; two daughters Tanaha (Barry Peton) Simon of New Palestine and Paige Simon of Osgood; one son Blake Simon of Greenfield; grandchildren Kevin and Austin Peton; four brothers Tom (Carol) Wagner of Columbus, Ken (Donna) Wagner of Osgood, Robert (Linda) Wagner of Batesville, and Jeff (Susie) Wagner of Osgood; one sister Marlene (Joe) Prickel of Batesville. She was preceded in death by her father. Mrs. Simon was a 1981 graduate of Jac-Cen-Del High School. She received her Associates Degree in business administration from Ball State University in 1983. Janice was a former employee of Hil-Rom in Batesville, Vollmer Insurance in Osgood, and the Ripley Vision Clinic in Versailles. She currently worked as an ACH Specialist with the Napoleon State Bank. She enjoyed time with her family, “taking care of the yard”, swimming in her pool, and sewing. Janice was a member of the St. Maurice Catholic Church in Napoleon where she had served as secretary on the parish council. She was also a former member of the VFW Auxiliary and had worked as a Mary Kay Consultant. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, May 9 at St. Maurice Catholic Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rosary services at 3:45. Memorials may be given to the church in care of the funeral home.
