Janet Rose Saylor, 82, of Greensburg, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2025 with her family gathered by her side. She was born on June 19, 1943, in Paoli, Indiana, the daughter of Herbert and Elsie (Payton) Curtis.
Janet dedicated her life to caring for others, working for many years as a CNA at Oddfellows and Morning Breeze Nursing Homes. She had a deep love for her family and took great pride in her children and grandchildren. A woman of strength and compassion, Janet was known for her generous spirit and unwavering devotion to those she loved.
She found joy in the simple pleasures of life—watching hummingbirds each season, camping, fishing, and boating with her beloved husband, George. She had a fondness for crime television and was a faithful Facebook follower, keeping tabs on her growing family with humor and affection. Her hardworking nature and dedication left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her, and she instilled these values in her children and grandchildren.
Janet is survived by her children, Wanda (Jeffrey) Maguire, Beke Saylor Abel, and Darrell (Tonya) Saylor; her cherished grandchildren, Kelly Maguire, Kyle Maguire, Corey Abel, Chad Abel, and Nicholas Burford; great-grandchildren Jayden Abel, Maleek Abel, Zoey Burford, and several others; and her brother, Gerald Curtis. She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved soulmate, George Saylor; her son, Gary Saylor; and siblings Larry Curtis, Alva Curtis, Mary Curtis, and Renda Suniga.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Janet’s life on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Star Baptist Cemetery.
