Janet Fae “Jolly” Icenogle age 63 of Bargersville, Indiana passed from this life into the presence of the Lord, at home on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 surrounded by her family. Janet was referred to by family and friends as Jan. She entered this life on July 8, 1961, at King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison, Indiana to the late Carl E Jolly and Mary Lou “Copeland” Jolly. Jan married her forever love, Terry L. Icenogle on June 11, 1988, and he survives. This precious union of 36 years was blessed with two sons, Evan and Jon Icenogle. She attended Cross Plains Elementary and graduated from South Ripley Jr. Sr. High School in Versailles, Indiana the spring of 1980. After High School, Jan was employed for a short time at the Colonial Cottage Restaurant before being hired at Berkel Industries of Versailles and Batesville as office personnel for the next 8 years. The first five years of She and Terry’s marriage they lived in Morristown, Indiana. In October of 1993 they moved to Bargersville Indiana where they made their home til the present. Upon she and Terry’s move to Bargersville, she was employed for the custodial staff position for the 24,000 sq ft building known as Bluff Creek Christian Church. It was her ministry, as she worked tirelessly to keep floors, walls, glass doors, bathrooms and office space sparkling. Jan’s loving and gentle spirit made her a wonderful listener and encourager as she shared a smile, a kind word, and truths of Jesus and His love. She was employed at Bluff Creek for 30 years.
Jan was a very creative person. For many years she helped to create crafts for the summer Vacation Bible School Program at Bluff Creek Christian Church. She enjoyed preparing delicious meals for her family and revising recipes for her own special dietary needs. Many of her recipes include tips, and little tweaks to make the end result special. Jan enjoyed reading her Bible, inspirational readings and trips to the Ripley County farm where she grew up which also included visits with her siblings and their families. Most of all she cherished family time with her husband, sons, daughter-in-laws and two small grandchildren. Jan will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 36 years, Terry L. Icenogle; her loving son, Evan Daniel Icenogle and wife Kylie of Greenwood, Indiana; her loving son, Jon Taylor Icenogle and wife Candice of Bargersville, Indiana; her precious grand-children, Bekham Park Icenogle and Eowyn Grace Icenogle; her sister Carol Holcomb and husband Randy , her brother David Jolly and wife Cheryl, her brother Dwight Jolly all of Versailles, Indiana; several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
Jan was preceded in death by her parents; Carl E. Jolly and Mary Lou “Copeland” Jolly; paternal grandparents, Howard and Caroline “May” Jolly; maternal grandparents, Earl J. and Grace M. “Porter” Copeland. Pastor Jeremy Towne will conduct a service on Monday, July 29, 2024 at 7PM at Bluff Creek Christian Church, 6286 West State Road 144, Greenwood, IN 46143. Friends may call Monday, July 29, 2024 from 4PM until service time at the church. A graveside service will follow on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Shelby Cemetery, 2270 W County Rd 700 S, Versailles, IN.
