James “Jim” French, age 84, of West Harrison, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, surrounded by family in Dillsboro, Indiana.
He was born on February 25, 1940, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to James Elbert and Loretta (Blymeier) French and married Barbara Humpert on April 23, 1961. Jim worked in the beef and trucking industry most of his life. He loved his family, fishing, his bibs, tinkering, collecting lots of things, and also liked country, bluegrass, and older rock music.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Barb French, to whom he was married 64 years, his children, Pam (Dave) French Plummer, Sheila French Bedel, Jimmy (Lori) French, and Aaron (Kathy) French, his nine grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, from 11:30 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Shawn Crisman officiating, all at Jackman Hensley Funeral Home, 215 East Broadway Street, Harrison, Ohio 45030. A burial will follow at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery in Batesville, Indiana.
