James J. “Jimmy” Nordhoff

James J. “Jimmy” Nordhoff, 77, of Moores Hill, Indiana, passed away Saturday, November 20, 2021, in Lawrenceburg, Indiana.

He was born July 25, 1944, in Aurora, IN, son of the late John Nordhoff and Ottie (Shoopman) Nordhoff.

He served his country as a member of the United States Army.

He worked as a laborer for Aurora Casket Company, retiring after over 28 years of service.

He was a member of Aurora VFW and Aurora American Legion.

Jimmy enjoyed upholstering furniture. He was an avid Elvis fan and loved animals, especially his dogs. Jimmy collected coins and cars, his favorite being the 1957 Chevy. He liked to watch action shows, such as Walker Texas Ranger, Steven Seagal movies and old westerns. His favorite place to eat was Frisch’s. Jimmy enjoyed fishing, grilling, and hanging out with his family and friends. Jimmy was devoted to his wife and kids and he will be greatly missed by all.

James is survived by his loving Spouse, Shirley (Bradley) Nordhoff, Children, Tabitha Nordhoff (Chris Lageman) of Manchester, IN, Jamie (Ricky) Clark Sr. of Moores Hill, IN, David Nordhoff of Moores Hill, IN, James Nordhoff Jr. (Michelle Helfrich) of Moores Hill, IN; Brother, David “Dave” (Cathy) Nordhoff of Aurora, IN; Grandchildren, Jacob Lageman, Haley Lageman, Ricky Clark Jr., Jameson Clark, Jayden Nordhoff, Cloe Nordhoff, Faithe Nordhoff, Maci Nordhoff, Leelan Nordhoff.

He was preceded in death by his Parents, John & Ottie; Brothers and Sisters, Bud Becraft, Loretta Becraft, Bill Nordhoff, Johnny Nordhoff, Richard Nordhoff, Walt Nordhoff, and Cyril Nordhoff.

Friends will be received Saturday, November 27, 2021, 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm at the Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, Aurora, Indiana.

Services will be held at the funeral home at 2:00 pm.

Interment will follow in the Mt. Sinai Cemetery, Aurora, Indiana. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Southeastern Indiana Honor Guard.
