Pirates first W of the season among Friday’s girls finals

Varsity girls basketball recaps from Friday, November 19.

Jac-Cen-Del topped Oldenburg 66-31 at the Eagles Nest.

The Eagles Annabelle Williams posted 18 points, six rebounds, four assists and three steals.  Jalee Rider recorded 13 points and seven swipes.  Reese Obendorf put in 11 points and also collected a trio of rebounds and steals.

Oldenburg got 10 points, eight rebounds and three steals from Emma Weberding.  Teammate Ashely Borgman added eight points, four boards and three assists.

South Ripley lost at Lawrenceburg 59-22. 

The Raiders were held scoreless in the first quarter and shot just 16 percent from the floor for the game.  South Ripley was also outrebounded by 16 and were outscored at the free throw line 14-3 after making just 3 of 10 attempts.

Katelynn Samples was the only Raider to reach double figure scoring with 10 points.  Gracie Gunter had six points and five rebounds. Emily Flood only scored two points but had team-highs with nine rebounds and four steals.

Lawrenceburg was led by Lizzie Redar with 16 points, nine rebounds and six assists. Kirsten Cross posted 14 points, seven rebounds and four steals.  Molly Steuer netted 10 points and eight boards while Chloe Meyer tallied nine points, seven rebounds, sis assists and four steals.

Greensburg got its first win of the season besting South Decatur 51-30 in Westport.

The Pirates led by 20 at halftime.

Greensburg got 17 points from Mylie Wilkison, 15 from Kayla Tamm and 10 via Leah West.

Franklin County got a home victory over Union County 49-29. 

The Lady Cats outscored the Lady Patriots 22-9 in the fourth quarter to pull away.

FC was led by Josie Rolfes with 16 points.  Kassidy Schell put in 13 and Nicole Mears scored eight.

Faith Richardson’s 12 points were tops for the UC.

Switzerland County won a non-conference game at Rising Sun 46-35.

Baylee Morris and Kieran Groover scored 12 and 11 points respectively for the Shiners.  Jenna Peelman added nine points and nine rebounds.

Southwestern Shelby lost at Shelbyville 49-29. 

The Spartans were led in scoring by Lilly Rooks with eight points.  Lily Kerber and Kennedy Pile both booked six.

Shelbyville’s Kylee Edwards led all scorers with 17.

It was Waldron over Hauser 53-36 in a Mid Hoosier Conference battle.

Bella Larrison and Megan Bogemann both netted 10 points for the Lady Mohawks.  Hadlie Ross and Mackenzie Shawe followed with eight each.

  • Connersville defended The Bowl and beat Centerville 66-18.
