The following are junior high track recaps from Wednesday, May 4. There may be updates, so please check back.
In a quad meet, the St. Louis girls and Jac-Cen-Del boys were both winners.
The St. Louis girls scored 71 points, South Ripley was second with 59. Jac-Cen-Del (22) and Shawe (14) followed in third and fourth.
The Eagle boys scored 75. The second place Cardinals had 54. The Raiders (45) and Hilltoppers (3) took third and fourth.
Individual winners for St. Louis included two each by Rachel Suttman and Griffin Koester plus one apiece by Belle Young and Cayden Lieland. The Cardinals won both girls relays and the boys 400. (More information follows the recaps.)

The North Decatur junior high boys finished third in a four-way meet won by Tri with 79 points. Blue River Valley came in second with48). ND followed with 35 and Daleville trailed with 28.
Although the Charger boys did not have any event winners, they did have a very competitive night and several personal records. (More information follows the recaps.)
The North Decatur girls finished third. ND’s Sarah Moeller got the only Charger win.

St. Louis’ Jason Frey- St. Louis Catholic School faced Jac-Cen-Del, South Ripley, and Shawe Memorial in a quad meet on 5/04/2022. St. Louis boys finished second with 54 points vs. 45 points South Ripley, 3 points Shawe Memorial, and 75 points Jac-Cen-Del. Cayden Lieland was first place in discus with a throw of 89′ 6″.
Cayden Lieland was second in the 100 meter dash with a time of 28.6 seconds, a personal record. Griffin Koester was first in the 400 meter dash with a time of 64.9 seconds. Carson Hartwell was second in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:52.1 seconds. Griffin Koester was first in the 1600 meter run with a time of 5:22.3.
The 4×100 meter relay team finished first with a time of 59.5 seconds consisting of Jeff Gerstbauer, Ethan Rahschulte, Wilbur Giesting, and Cayden Lieland. The 4×400 meter relay team was second with a time of 5:00.2 seconds consisting of Sam Dice, Ethan Rahschulte, Jeff Gerstbauer, and Griffin Koester.

Rachel Suttman earned a first place finish in the shot put and discus with throws of 25′ 11″ and 78’7″ respectively. Belle Young finished second in the 100 meter dash with a time of 14.1 seconds. Ava Becker finished second in the 200 meter dash with a time of 30.21 seconds. Belle Young finished first in the 400 meter dash with a time of 73.1 seconds. Haley Frey finished second in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:57.1 seconds and second in the 1600 meter run with a time of 6:52.8.
The 4×100 meter relay team was first with a time of 59.5 seconds consisting of Rachel Suttman, Ava Becker, Maggie Tekulve, and Felicity Brelage. The 4×400 meter relay team was first with a time of 4:52.9 consisting of Rachel Suttman, Sophia Hohenstein, Belle Young, and Felicity Brelage.

North Decatur’s Destiny Brown- The NDHS JH Boys had a competitive night Wednesday. Branden McBride placed 4th in his 100M Dash, 5th in the 200M Dash with a new PR of 28.62, and 3rd in Long Jump. Simon Barber placed 5th in his 400M Dash with a new PR of 1:06, and 3rd in the High Jump with a PR of 4’4″. Conner Goolsby placed a close 2nd in his 800M Run with a new PR of 2:38! Eli Weisenbach placed 3rd in his mile, 2nd in his 110M Hurdles, and 2nd in Long Jump! The 4×100 Relay took 2nd place, and the 4×400 Relay placed 3rd. Last, but not least, Clayton Ruf took 4th in the High Jump.
Great effort from the entire NDHS team last night!
North Decatur’s Breanna Morris- The North Decatur Junior High girls track team placed 3rd at the Tri High Invitational. High lights from the meet are:
- 4×100 meter relay team got 3rd place with a time of 1:04
- Sarah Moeller – 1st in hurdles, 4th in the 1600 meter run, and tied 2nd in the high jump
- Sophie Rohls – Tied 2nd for the high jump and 3rd in long jump
- Layla Fellows – 5th in the 100 meter dash and 5th place in shot put
- Sara Litmer – 3rd place in shot put and 5th in discus
- Mary Stier – 5th in the 1600 meter run and 2nd in the 200 meter run
- Jessie Biltz – 4th in the 800 meter run
