St. Louis won both tri meets at South Decatur. The boys edged Jac-Cen-Del 47-46 and the Lady Cardinals topped the Cougars by 64-49. The Cougar boys scored 33 and the Lady Eagles tallied 13.
Winners for St. Lou included two each by Cayden Lieland and Griffin Koester plus one apiece from Rachel Suttman, Belle Young, Haley Frey, Maggie Tekulve and Ava Becker. The Cardinals also took two girls relays and one boys. (More details follow the recaps.)

St. Louis’ Jason Frey- St Louis Catholic School boys placed first with a score of 47 versus 46 Jac-Cen-Del and 33 for South Decatur. Cayden Lieland finished first in the discus with a personal record of 88’ 5” and second in shot put with a throw of 28’ 3”. Jeff Gerstbauer finished third with a throw of 27’6”.
Cayden Lieland placed first in the 100 meter dash with a personal record of 13.19 seconds. Griffin Koester finished first in the 1600 meter run with a tie to his personal record of 5:24. Adam Weber finished third in the 1600 meter run with a personal record of 5:48. Griffin Koester placed first in the 400 meter dash with 63.9 seconds, Sam Dice second in the 400 meter dash with a time of 68.9 seconds, and Adam Weber placed third with a time of 71.7 seconds. Carson Hartwell earned second in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:55. Jeff Gertsbauer placed third in the 200 meter dash with a time of 29.17 a personal record.
Boys 4×100 meter placed second with a time of 58.5 seconds the team consisted of Jeff Gerstbauer, Ethan Rahschulte, Adam Weber, and Cayden Lieland. The 4×400 meter relay team made an impressive comeback to finish first with a personal record time of 4:37.15 seconds the team was composed of Adam Weber, Ethan Rahshulte, Jeff Gerstbauer, and Griffin Koester.
The girls team finished first with a score of 64 points vs. 49 South Decatur and 13 Jac-Cen-Del. Rachel Suttman placed first in discus with a throw of 78’ 8” and first in shot put with a throw of 26’7”. Felicity Brelage finished second with a throw of 63’ 5.5”. Karsyn Watson finished second in long jump with 11’4”.
Belle Young placed first in 100 meter hurdles with a personal record of 18.07 seconds and 0.4 seconds from a school record. Felicity Brelage placed second with 20.5 seconds in 100 meter hurdles. Haley Frey finished first in the 1600 meter run with a time of 6:36. Alejandra Schutte finished third with 7:12. Sophia Hohenstein finished 3rd in the 400 meter dash with a time of 80.29 seconds. Maggie Tekulve finished first in the 800 meter with 3:04. Haley Frey finished second with a time of 3:05. Ava Becker finished first in the 200 meters with a time of 30.93 seconds a new personal record. Jersey Tekulve placed third in the 200 meter dash with a time of 31.47 seconds a new personal record.
Girls 4×100 meter finished first with a time of 57 seconds consisting of Rachel Suttman, Ava Becker, Belle Young, and Felicity Brelage. The 4×400 meter relay team finished first with a time of 4:54 the team consisted of Rachel Suttman, Maggie Tekulve, Belle Young, and Felicity Brelage.
