Batesville, In. — Ivy Tech Community College has appointed Dr. Rebecca L. Rahschulte as the Director of the College’s Batesville Site. Rahschulte, Dean of Arts, Sciences, and Education, and a Professor of Psychology at Ivy Tech Lawrenceburg, will continue to serve in her current positions but will focus primarily on high school strategies as the Batesville Site Director.
“Rebecca is an outstanding leader with significant experience in higher education, academic development, and collaborating with colleagues, students, and community members,” Ivy Tech Lawrenceburg Chancellor Mark Graver said. “As Director of the Batesville Site, she will continue the excellent efforts of the site’s partnerships with area high schools and maintaining the College’s alignment with the needs of the community and its employers.”
Batesville formally became a site of the Lawrenceburg Campus under Ivy Tech’s new structure that empowers campuses to better serve their service areas. The Lawrenceburg Campus serves Dearborn, Ohio, and Ripley counties, as well as Franklin County, which was added to the campus’ service area last year.
Rahschulte joined Ivy Tech full-time in 2009 and has held various roles including: Assistant, and later Associate Professor of Psychology and Social/Behavioral Sciences & Humanities Program Chair. In 2017, she served as Interim Chancellor of the Ivy Tech Madison Campus. Prior to her full-time career at the College, Rahschulte served as an Ivy Tech adjunct faculty member. She previously worked as a School Psychologist at the Oak Hills Local School District and the Cincinnati Public School District, both in Ohio, and a Mental Health Consultant at the Northern Kentucky Head Start in Newport, Kentucky.
“We are delighted to have Rebecca’s leadership supporting the important work taking place with our Batesville K-12 and employer partners,” said Chris Lowery, Ivy Tech Senior Vice President of Workforce Alignment and a Batesville resident. “She is a natural fit for the community and will guide the Batesville Site as it expands on its strong role in advancing students toward rewarding, high-demand careers and addressing the needs of area employers.”
Rahschulte completed her Doctorate of Philosophy in School Psychology, and her Master’s of Education in School Psychology from the University of Cincinnati. She also earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology from the University of Georgia. She is a licensed School Psychologist through the Ohio Department of Education and the Kentucky Department of Education, and a Nationally Certified School Psychologist through the National Association of School Psychologists.
Rahschulte is actively involved in Ivy Tech statewide, including being a member of the Regional Organizational Structure committee. She is also a representative for the Higher Learning Commission reaccreditation team, and most recently served on the Transfer Single Articulation Pathway Committee – Psychology, for the Indiana Commission for Higher Education initiative.
Rahschulte actively supports the United Way of Dearborn & Ohio Counties, serving on the Action Council, and in March 2017 became the Vice Chair. In 2014 she was named the President’s Award for Excellence in Instruction winner for her region, and also nominated for the Glenn W. & Mary Catherine Sample Award for Excellence in Instruction.
“At the Batesville Site, Ivy Tech has created the state standard for enabling students to earn college credit and begin preparing for their future careers while still in high school,” Rahschulte said. “I look forward to working with our dedicated faculty and staff at the Batesville Site as we continue to build educational pathways for students and serve the surrounding communities.”
