INDOT vehicles involved in two Tuesday crashes

 

I-74 & State Road 101 crash

Versailles, In. — Indiana State Police are investigating two Versailles District crashes involving vehicles driven by workers from the department of transportation.

Sgt. Stephen Wheeles says the first crash occurred around 10 a.m. Tuesday on northbound I-65 near Crothersville. A car driven by David Cutrone, 29, of Lake Wylie, South Carolina, drove off the road, struck a guardrail, then an Indiana Department of Transportation vehicle parked on the shoulder occupied by Cody Hobbs, 24, of Scottsburg, and three workers removing debris from the highway.

Hobbs, Darren Jones, 49, of Deputy, and Freddie Taylor, 26, of Scottsburg, were treated for minor injuries at a local hospital. Firefighters from Vernon Township and Seymour were able to free Cutrone from the car for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

I-65 crash near Crothersville

Sgt. Stephen Wheeles says the second crash occurred at noon on I-74 near State Road 101 in Ripley County.

The Indiana State Police report says a department of transportation vehicle driven northbound on State Road 101 by Kevin Callahan, 42, of Sunman, was struck by a vehicle exiting from I-74 onto the highway driven by Keith Huber, 78, of St. Paul.

Callahan, three passengers and Huber were treated for minor injuries.

Both investigations are ongoing.
