Statewide — On Tuesday, Indiana Republican Party Executive Director Matthew Huckleby mailed, via the United States Postal Service, a copy of the Federal Elections Commission’s (FEC) candidate guide to the Indiana Democratic Party. They allege this action was spurred when Representative Greg Pence’s Democratic opponent, Jeannine Lee Lake, solicited campaign donations from the audience of national news network MSNBC, even though she wasn’t a registered candidate with the FEC.
The GOP is claiming Lake raised six figures from her media appearances, but that Lake has yet to file a personal financial statement or second-quarter fundraising reports with the FEC. In response, Lake stated, “I’m thrilled they’re finally giving us statewide ‘attention.’ We’ve been delayed but we’ve done nothing wrong.”
