Batesville, In. — A group from a local campground held an auction that raised more than $30,000 for the Wounded Warrior Project. After a silent auction on August 11 the campers from Indiana Lake Campground handed over a check for $30,838.
The fundraiser started about seven years ago as an effort to help a fellow camper battling cancer. When that battle was completed the group elected to continue the event and give the money the Wounded Warrior Project.
Over the last five years they have contributed about $107,000 to the charity.
