Decatur County, IN — Incumbent Decatur County Sheriff David Durant has announced that he will run for re-election in the 2022 Republican Primary.
Durant was elected as a Democrat in 2018 but switched his party affiliation last September.
Durant said at the time he switched parties, “I’m a man of God, pro-law enforcement, and pro-Second Amendment. I always have been.” He also said a “hard left turn” in the Democratic Party was the primary catalyst that drove him to join the Republican Party.
