Important dates approach for 21st Century Scholars

Indianapolis, In. —

Early Graduates

If you have high school students who will be graduating early and plan to matriculate to their chosen college/university in spring 2019, please notify Barbie Martin at [email protected] because student awards must be manually created under these circumstances. For 21st Century Scholars, final, cumulative GPA and diploma type are required. If the student is an Academic Honors/Technical Honors recipient (and NOT a 21st Century Scholar), ONLY final diploma type is required for the student to potentially be eligible for the $800 performance incentive offered through the Frank O’Bannon Grant.

2019-2020 FAFSA

The 2019-2020 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) opened October 1, 2018. In order to secure state aid eligibility for the 2019-2020 academic year, students must submit the FAFSA by the state deadline of April 15, 2019. The form can be accessed by visiting fafsa.ed.gov.

Seniors are encouraged to create a Federal Student Aid ID (FSA ID) prior to beginning the FAFSA. The FSA ID serves as a legal digital signature, and both the student and at least one parent must have one. The FSA ID can be created on the Federal Student Aid website. Students may also use the new My Student Aid app to file their FAFSA. The app can be found on the Google Play and iTunes store by searching “MyStudentAid.”
