IHSAA, Colts Renew Partnership with InSideOut Initiative

The InSideOut Initiative—a nonprofit aimed to inspire, catalyze, and equip school leaders and communities to transform lives through Purpose-Based Sports—will re-launch in Indiana on September 17, in partnership with the Indiana High School Athletics Association (IHSAA) Foundation.

Powered by the NFL Foundation and originally piloted in Colorado and Texas in 2015, the InSideOut Initiative has partnered with 24 NFL teams across 20 states.

InSideOut partners with educational leaders, state athletic associations and NFL teams to inspire, catalyze, and equip school leaders and communities to transform lives through Purpose-Based Sports; connecting students to Transformational Coaches, in a Culture of Belonging, for their Human Growth and Development.

Seven years after piloting the Initiative, Indiana will be re-launching the fully developed InSideOut Leadership, thanks to comprehensive funding from the NFL Foundation and the Indianapolis Colts.

“Across the Hoosier state, school communities, educators, and coaches are working tirelessly to ensure that athletics remain a true extension of the classroom,” said IHSAA Foundation Director Trip Lukemeyer, “The InSideOut Initiative empowers school leaders with the tools, guidance, and support needed to build a culture where character development, leadership, and transformational growth are at the heart of every student-athlete’s experience. We are thrilled to relaunch and revitalize the InSideOut Initiative within Indiana.”

“The Colts are excited to partner with the IHSAA and the InSideOut Initiative once again to bring this innovative curriculum to Indiana high schools,” said Andy Matis, Colts Senior Manager of Football Development. “The InsideOut Initiative and their purpose-based athletics teachings have made amazing strides throughout the country, and we’re excited to build transformational coaches to connect with Indiana student athletes.”
