GREENSBURG, Ind. — Greensburg Police have released the identity of the man arrested over the weekend after a standoff with officers.
Police say, Albert Noah, 60, of Greensburg, was arrested on charges of Aggravated Battery, Disarming a Law Enforcement Officer, Attempted Strangulation, Domestic Battery, and Intimidation.
According to police, the victim at the hospital told officers that there were numerous hunting weapons in the house.
Police say, when officers arrived at Noah’s residence, they made contact with him, and requested for him to step outside.
According to police, he refused, and the Decatur County tactical team was dispatched.
State Police negotiators made contact with him, and he came outside, but then attempted to go back inside, and police followed him in.
Police say while they were trying to arrest him, he grabbed an officer’s rifle and attempted to pull it towards himself.
Police say Noah threatened to assault the arresting officers.
According to police, force was used to place Noah in handcuffs, and he was transported to the Decatur County Memorial Hospital for evaluation.
Officers served a search warrant and found numerous weapons that police say didn’t belong to Noah.
