I-74 Corridor Group takes next step toward READI grant

The I 74 Corridor Group – which is comprised of the cities of Batesville, Greensburg, Shelbyville, and Rushville plus the counties of Decatur, Shelby, and Rush – have submitted an application for the Indiana Regional Economic Acceleration Development Initiative (READI).

The regional group is applying for up to $50 million to improve the quality of life in their communities by attracting employees and improving education opportunities. If successful, the $50 million grant would be split seven ways.

They’ll now start the process of getting local businesses and others on board while the application is under consideration.

The READI program was funded during this year’s General Assembly session and is administered by the Indiana Economic Development Corporation.
