It turns out both varsity hoops programs in Westport will have new leadership this coming school year.
Kristen Hicks has been hired as Lady Cougars’ head coach.
She has spent the past two seasons as South Decatur girls JV coach and replaces Tyler Johnson.
Although it’s not clear who will serve as JV coach, Lisa Huff returns as the varsity assistant.
South Decatur girls basketball has been reclassified from Class 2A to Class 1A sectional 60, which is also comprised of Jac-Cen-Del and Oldenburg Academy, along with Edinburgh, Morristown, Southwestern (Shelby), and Waldron.
