Helen loved people. She enjoyed decorating the house during the holidays and wanted everyone to have fun. Her family explained that because the holidays were special, the kids ruled on those days, allowed to eat whatever they wanted. Candy, sweets, it didn’t matter. Helen’s loved of children and gentle nature made her very welcoming and someone they would gravitate too. According to her family, she was also a great cook. Didn’t matter what is was, it was all good. She insisted you didn’t leave her house hungry. Her breakfasts were legendary and she made the best cup of coffee you could get. Other interests included working jigsaw puzzles and watching Wheel of Fortune, which if you interrupted while it was on, well, you did so at your risk.
She is survived by daughters Glenda Bise of Batesville, Helen Leatherman of Florida, Hope Benham of Versailles; sons Charles Puente of Muscatatuck, Indiana, Edward Puente of Somerset, Kentucky, Russell Pollard of Greensburg; brothers Charles Faulkner of Sunman, Steve Faulkner of Versailles; nineteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she is also preceded in death by her daughter Sharon Hanson and sisters Agnes Faulkner and Vivian Goldsmith.
