Heat Advisory In Place for Thursday

(Southeastern IN) – A heat advisory has been issued for Thursday from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m.

Heat index values up to 102 are expected.

Forecasters say hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses, but those can be prevented by drinking plenty of fluids, staying in air-conditioned rooms and out of the sun.

You’re urged to take extra precautions when outside such as wearing lightweight and loose-fitting clothing; trying to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening, and take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

In addition, it would be a good idea to check up on relatives, neighbors and pets.
