Greensburg, IN—Decatur County Solid Waste District would like to help promote recycling in the community for the holidays. During the holidays, we accumulate about 25% more trash than usual. By recycling just a few things, you can help save your community.
Examples include
- Use reusable bags while holiday shopping
- Wrap gifts in recycled paper or use gift bags that can be reused over and over
- Send out recycled Christmas cards this year
- Buy rechargeable batteries
- Bring unopened non-perishable items to a local food pantry
- Compost your Christmas tree in a pond to create a fish habitat.
