Harold Nicholas Rosfeld, 95, Batesville (formerly of St. Leon)

Harold Nicholas Rosfeld, age 95 of Batesville (formerly St. Leon) passed away on Friday, September 19, surrounded by his family.  Born November 15, 1929 in Franklin County, he is the son of Andrew and Alma (Nee: Theobald) Rosfeld.  He married Mary Lou Glaub on November 11, 1950 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Leon, Indiana who preceded him in death on April 2, 2012.

During his working years, he was  a truck driver Gulf Oil (Chevron). Later he worked part time as a truck driver for Kopp’s Turkey Farm, and Straber Oil.

His pride and joy, was his family.  Harold loved it when the big family group would gather at his home for the holidays and birthdays.  He enjoyed sitting on his deck and reading. He would read almost anything he could get his hands on.  He also enjoyed watching TV. His favorites were news stations and game shows. He maintained a shipshape lawn which he continued to mow until age 94.  He also took pride in his 2016 Ford Pickup Truck which was always spotless.

Harold was well known for his fried chicken.  For many years, he was a fryer at St. Leon Fireman’s Festival and fried chicken for many weddings. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1461, where he also volunteered as a chicken fryer for the Batesville Area Columbians. He spent many afternoons and evenings there visiting with friends, playing cards, and discussing politics.

He will be greatly missed by his children, Tom (Sheree) Rosfeld of Cleves, Ohio; Bonnie Boyce of Sunman, Indiana; Connie (Mark) Hall of New Alsace, Indiana; and John (Lisa) Rosfeld of Batesville, Indiana; grandchildren, Jason (Jamie) Rosfeld, Erin Rosfeld, Chelsie Rosfeld, Nick (Brenda) Rosfeld, Brandon (Rebecca) Boyce, Sean (Ashley) Boyce, Kelly (RJ) Beck, Chris (Amanda) Hall, Andrew Rosfeld, Josh (Sarah) Rosfeld. and 16 Great Grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, Vernon Rosfeld.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2025 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at All Saints Parish (St. Joseph Campus) in St. Leon with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 am. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Batesville Area Columbian’s Building Fund or the Alzheimer’s Association.  Memorials can be brought to the service or mailed to Meyers Funeral Home, P.O. Box 202, Batesville, IN 47006.
