Hansford Dwight Cornett

Hansford Dwight Cornett, 72, of Aurora, Indiana passed away Saturday, May 14, 2022 , in Lawrenceburg, Indiana.

He was born May 18, 1949, in Detroit, MI, son of the late Bernie Sallee and Beulah Sallee.

Dwight worked as a Data Programmer for the IRS, retiring with over 30 years of service.
Dwight served his country as a member of the United States Navy. He was a very patriotic man, and was proud of his service as a radio operator in the military. He served 8 years, 11 months and 1 day.

Dwight enjoyed fishing, farming and taking care of animals. He loved to cook and was known for his bisquits and gravy. His favorite thing was watching his grandkids and spending time with his family. Dwight was a very giving person, and that giving nature continued even after his passing. He chose to be a donor and helped save countless others with this beautiul choice.

Dwight is survived by his loving spouse Rebecca “Becky” (Messer) Cornett, children, Kristina (Byron) Wilber of Lawrenceburg, IN, Gina Lampe (Tom Chalk) of Aurora, IN; grandchildren, Marina (Zak) Donohue of West Harrison, IN, Byron D. Hansford Wilber of Lawrenceburg, IN; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernie and Beulah.

Friends will be received Thursday, May 19, 2022, 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at the Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, 219 Mechanic Street, Aurora, IN.
Services will be held immediately following visitation at 7:00 pm with Pastor Matt Oelker officiating.

Military services will be held at the funeral home by members of the Southeastern Indiana Honor Guard.
