The following are high school softball recaps from Tuesday, April 19. All events are varsity unless noted otherwise. There may be updates, so please check back.
Jac-Cen-Del outgunned Oldenburg 14-11.
For the Eagles, Olivia Strunk and Ema Veerkamp both singled and tripled with two RBI. Regan Richter notched three hits. Savannah James was the winning pitcher and struck out six.

Connersville was a 9-4 winner over Shelbyville.
McKenna Lucas had a big game for the Spartans with a grand slam and an RBI single for five ribbies total. Bre Brock, Baylie Spurlock and Rayleigh Bresher all had two hits. Kindred Conley was the winning pitcher.

Rising Sun held off Madison 6-4.
Tamryn Miller had three hits with a double. Sydney Halloran singled and doubled with an RBI. Alyssa Simpson pitched a complete game with five strikeouts and one walk.
Cambryin Mann drove in three of the four Cub runs on a hit. Patty Johnson doubled home the other.

Southwestern Hanover defeated South Decatur 10-3. Four Cougar errors led to several unearned runs.
Morgan Mahoney and Riley Scroggins both played long ball for the Rebels and combined for five RBI. Ashley Fulton doubled twice, batted in a run and was the inning pitcher with six strikeouts over four innings.
Loryn Pate singled and tripled with two RBI for the Westport ladies. Kassidy Hailey singled and boudles. Madison Mikulec also had two hits.

Lawrenceburg bested Batesville 8-6. The Tigers jumped out to a 6-0 lead before the Bulldogs climbed their way back into the game.
Payton Beard and Meghan Heinsman both went yard for the Tigers.
Emma Belter, Samantha Kessens, Sophie Lee and Georgia Mertz all had two hits. Kessens and Lee each notched a double. Belter booked three RBI, Kessens collected two.
For the Bulldogs, Calli Fletcher and Kaylin Hinners both played well defensively and had one hit each to their credit. Katie Mobley pitched a complete game with three strikeouts and no walks. Only four of the LHS eight runs were earned.

Franklin County’s JV lost 6-2 in their season opener against Union County.
Offensively for the Wildcat reserves, Madison Middendorf singled and doubled with an RBI. Cydney Morehead also batted in a run on a hit. Middendorf pitched five innings in her first outing of the season with three strikeouts and three earned runs allowed.
