H.S. softball recaps from Tuesday, April 12

The following are high school softball recaps from Tuesday, April 12.  All are varsity unless noted otherwise.  There may be updates, so please check back.

Franklin County was in an 0-2 hole to Centerville, but the deficit didn’t last long.  The Wildcats exploded with 14 runs in the third inning and busted the Bulldogs 22-3.  The Brookville gals pounded out 20 hits.

For FC, Kensee Ferman singled and homered twice with seven RBI.  Kiersten Schell had three hits and batted in one.  KK Ferman doubled and played long ball once with four RBI.  Anne Becker and Kassidy Schell both had a couple of hits and a pair ribbies while Josie Rolfes collected two singles.

Bree Bischoff, in her first circle appearance of the season, pitched a full five innings for the win allowing two earned runs on two hits with eight strikeouts.

South Dearborn got by Lawrenceburg 5-4 in extra innings.  SD led 4-2 going into the home seventh with the Tigers struck twice to force extra frames.

The Knights Mikayla Rudisell led off the ninth with a triple and later scored for what proved to be the game winning run.  Rudisell also singled earlier and knocked in one.

SD’s Kori Cornett had three singles and a double with two RBI.  Cornett also struck out 10 batters and walked three over six innings.

For LHS, Ava Hall and Meghan Heinsman both had two hits.  Payton Beard plated a couple of runs and had a single.
