H.S. girls tennis recaps from Monday, May 16

The following are high school girls tennis recaps from Monday, May 16.  There may be updates, so please check back.

Milan ran the table against South Dearborn, 5-0 in varsity and 3-0 in JV.

Ava Honnert (6-1, 6-3), Ariel Haessig (6-0, 6-0) and Margot Keller (6-1, 6-1) collected wins in singles.  The Milan duos of Riley Clark with Karley Bushhorn (6-1, 6-1) and Alyssa Phelps with Kayla Walke (6-0, 6-0) took the doubles.

JV winners for the Black and Gold were Isabel Kroner (6-0), Ellie Knecht (6-1) and the tandem of Ellana Jutzi with Olivia Deaton (6-0).

South Dearborn’s Sportsmanship and Toughness Awards went to Maria Townsend and Jessica Bloebaum respectively.

Rushville lost 4-1 at Shelbyville.

Jin Calif (6-4, 6-0) captured the Lions only point at third singles.   Olivia Yager fell in three sets at second singles.

Rushville did secure five JV wins:  Vogel, Beard and Pittman in singles plus the doubles pairings of Volpi/Alexander and Beard/Edwards.
