H.S. girls tennis recaps from Monday, April 25

The following are high school girls tennis recaps from Monday, April 25.  there may be updates, so please check back.

Greensburg defeated South Dearborn 5-0.

Pirate victories (confirmation pending) came from Jenna Foster, Abigail Hoeing and Leah West in singles.  The tandems of Ella Chapman with Janae Comer and Hailey Duerstock with Morgan Cain won in doubles.

JV winners for GCHS were Kayla Kramer and Claire Nobbe/Annie Pumphrey.

The SD Sportsmanship Award went to Baileigh Lack and their Toughness Award went to Sydney Barth.

Rushville lost 4-1 to Edinburgh.

The Lions only victory came from Jin Calaf at third singles (6-1, 6-2). Audrey Gulley (4-6, 5-7) and Olivia Yager (4-6, 5-7) played two very close singles matches while the team of Wilson and Emory went three sets before coming up short (2-6, 6-4. 4-6).

JV wins for Rushville came from the singles play of Brooklyn Newbold, Matilde Volpi and Morgan Beard plus the duo of Pitman and Newbold in doubles.
