Group plans march in support of expanded background checks for gun purchases public and private

Indianapolis, In. — Today, We Live Inc., organizers of the Indianapolis Student March For Our Lives last year, announced that they are organizing a march in support of pending legislation requiring background checks on all gun sales. The event will be held on Saturday, March 2 at noon on the west side of the Indiana Statehouse.

Private sales, which currently do not require a criminal background check, would require the buyer and seller to complete the transaction through a licensed federal firearms dealer subject to a background check.

About We Live, Incorporated:  After losing two loved ones to gun violence in May of 2017, a group of students from Warren Central High School (Indianapolis, IN) decided to start a movement called We LIVE Indy coming out against youth violence. LIVE stands for ‘Linked To Intercept Violence Everywhere’. We LIVE Incorporated is officially led by 6 student board members with the guidance of an adult liaison. Each chapter, school, church, etc., requires its own student and adult leadership which the board oversees.
