Gregory “Greg” B. Thomerson, 61 of Dandridge, Tennessee, passed away suddenly, on November 1, 2021 at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center of an Aortic Dissection.
Born in Greensburg, Indiana January 28, 1960, the son of Charles Raymond and Imogene (Cox) Thomerson. He was a 1978 graduate of Greensburg Community High School. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1978 – 1982. He married “the love of his life”, Margie D. Allen, of Salisbury, Kentucky on June 30, 1996.
Greg was owner/consultant for 22 years of Total Systems Development, Inc. of Lexington, Kentucky. He loved fishing, gardening, and playing the harmonica. Greg was known by many in the music industry as a “G. Busy”, a blues harmonica player from Lexington, KY. He was the recipient of the Lexi Award for Community Service for creating “Blues Between The Bridges Festival” and his contribution in reviving the blues in Lexington, KY and the surrounding area.
Visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday, November 11th at 2 pm at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg, Indiana. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 pm. There will be no graveside service.
Greg is survived by his wife, Margie; daughter, Summer (Thomerson) Hampton; two brothers, Steve Holcomb and Chuck Thomerson, and two sisters Cindy (Holcomb) Charles and Jennifer (Holcomb) Stewart, and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Imogene (Cox) Thomerson; his father, Charles Raymond Thomerson, and his sister, Marie (Thomerson) Gosnell.
