The fifth-ranked Greensburg girls’ basketball team took an early lead against Lawrenceburg in the Sectional 29 semifinal Friday night and never looked back, winning 40-28. The Pirates were uncharacteristically cold from the field, shooting just 33% and hitting only one of nine three-point attempts. The Pirates were stout defensively, allowing Lawrenceburg only 29 shots in the game. The Tigers shot 27%. Mary Harmon led all scorers with 13 points. Claire Larrison scored 11 points and pulled down 11 rebounds. The Pirates advance to the Sectional 29 championship Saturday night against Batesville. The game tips off at 7:30 p.m. at Lawrenceburg.
