The IHSAA Class 3A No. 6 Greensburg boys basketball team overcame a double-digit deficit in the third quarter to defeat No. 10 Batesville 48-42 on Friday night. Addison Barnes-Pettit led the way for the Pirates with 20 points. Bradley Lutz scored 11 points and Drew Busick scored 10 points. The Pirates trailed by as many as 10 with two minutes to go in the third quarter. A buzzer-beating three-pointer by Barnes-Pettit cut the Bulldogs lead to seven at the end of the third. The Pirates started the fourth with a second three-pointer by Barnes-Pettit, a layup by Justin Adkins, and a three-pointer by Busick to give the Pirates the lead for good. The Pirates improved to 2-0 on the year. They return to action Friday night when they host Triton Central. A JV/Varsity doubleheader begins at 6 p.m.
