Saturday night marked the third time that Greensburg and Batesville had met this season, with the Pirates winning the first two contests. History repeated itself in the third meeting in the Class 3A Sectional 29 championship game, with Greensburg winning their first boys basketball sectional title in 5 years, taking down Batesville 58-47.
The Pirates led by 12-10 after the first quarter but would extend their lead to put them up 29-19 at the half. Batesville would make a comeback, cutting the Greensburg lead down to two at one point in the third quarter. However, Greensburg gave themselves enough of a cushion late in the game, earning them their first boys basketball sectional championship since 2020.

Ki Dyer led the Pirates in scoring with 23 points. In the loss, the Bulldogs were led by Cade Kaiser, scoring 18.
The Bulldogs finish out their season with a 17-7 record.
Greensburg will play the winner of Corydon Central-Scottsburg in a Regional Championship game at Washington on Saturday, March 11th, at 4pm.
