Update — After recommendations from Dr. Arthur Alunday, Decatur County Health Officer, Decatur County Community School Corporation (DCCSC) is also implementing a two-week virtual learning period for students.
DCCSC will be in eLearning starting Monday, November 2, and are also slated to return on Monday, November 16. At this time, according to Dr. Jarrod Burns, Superintendent, all sports practices and games, along with academic practices and competitions will go on as planned.
Original Story — Greensburg Community School Corporation (GCSC) will be the second area school to go to virtual schooling due to COVID-19 this school year. Tom Hunter, Superintendent for GCSC stated in a message to parents and guardians today, that several staff members, students, and bus drivers have been exposed to a person that tested positive for the virus and are in quarantine currently.
Beginning next Monday, November 2 the Greensburg Schools will begin eLearning for two weeks. School is scheduled to resume on November 16 at this time. Hunter asked that anyone that has a student test positive during the two-week break, please report it to your respective student’s school.
