The Greensburg Junior High School 8th grade team won the Brownstown Championship over the weekend. The Pirates beat Lutheran Catholic in the first match and then faced Bedford North Lawrence in the championship. Greensburg came out slow the first game having a difficult time with the serve. The team rallied back with great serves and teamwork. Great net play from Sophie Buening, Maddie Condon, Alivia Bishop, Lila Agee, Mila Dehoff, The defense picked up some great tips and digs, Mallory Bruner, Zoey Schaufert, Cayleigh Kropp, and Mikayla Keiffer, Setting team or Sophie Buening, Abby Porter, and Peyzlee Ferdinand were 98% on the day. Top servers were Abby Porter, Sophie Buening, and Mallory Bruner. The Greensburg Pirates finished 16-5 for the season. (Full match recap is below.)
