Greensburg man racks up 20-years in prison for bomb, probation charges

Greensburg, In. — A Greensburg man arrested for possession of an explosive device has been sentenced in Decatur County Superior Court to 16 years in prison.

In June of 2018 ,a concerned citizen reported a suspicious package in the area of South Broadway Street. Police tracked that package back to Aaron Land, 22, who lived a few blocks away. Police believe Land had intended the package for someone who lived nearby.

The device never detonated.

Land was also given an additional four years in prison for probation violations.

Decatur County prosecutor Nathan Harter said, “Mr. Land seriously jeopardized the health and safety of the people of Greensburg. I am grateful to Greensburg Police, Greensburg Fire, and the Indiana State Police Explosives Ordnance Disposal team for their handling of the dangerous situation.”
