(Greensburg, IN) – The City of Greensburg, in partnership with the Decatur County Community Foundation, is now accepting submissions for new veterans banners to be displayed on light poles throughout the city.
This initiative honors the service and sacrifice of local veterans across all branches of the armed forces.
The project builds upon the successful 2022 Bicentennial Celebration, during which the Decatur County Visitors Commission displayed banners recognizing veterans and distinguished community members.
Continuing this tradition, the new banners will serve as a lasting tribute to those who have served.
Community members can submit nominations through the online form, located on the City’s website, which will go live Monday, March 3.
Please note that only online submissions will be accepted—paper, mailed, or emailed submissions will not be considered.
Submissions will remain open until all available banner spaces are filled, with final selections made at the discretion of the City of Greensburg.
Photos that are submitted must be high quality.
Veterans currently listed on banners will not be considered.
Nominations will be accepted until all slots are full, which is 90 nominations.
For more information, please visit the City’s website or contact the Mayor’s Office.
