Greensburg Fire Department to host 9/11 Memorial Service Saturday

Fire Chief Nathan Stoermer inviting Greensburg City Council and the public to Saturday’s 9/11 Memorial Service, which will be hosted by his department.

GREENSBURG, IN — Greensburg Fire Chief Nathan Stoermer appeared before City Council Tuesday night to promote Saturday’s 9/11 Memorial Service.

“We will go through the timeline of the 9/11 events, as well as have an honor flag guard through the fire department,” said Stoermer. “We will present the colors and have our large Garrison flag hanging.”

Stoermer says a bagpipe player will also be on hand to play “Amazing Grace,” and singers will take part in the ceremony.

“We encourage anyone from the public to attend, as we remember the 20th anniversary of 9/11 with us,” Stoermer added.

The memorial service starts at 8:30 am Saturday at Fire Station 1.
