Greensburg, In. — Recently, the Greensburg-Decatur County Public Library released objectives included in their long-range plan. The development of a long-range plan is required by the Indiana public library standards.
Future goals include:
- Continue to provide and improve programming for all ages
- Promoting materials, which includes the physical materials available at Greensburg, Westport and on the Bookmobile. It also includes digital materials, specifically Overdrive
- Compare the library collection with the needs of the community. If a patron has input please notify a library worker
- Continually provide access to technology and providing technology education
- Solicit more input from the community about different services and programs that could be provided
- Provide educational and training opportunities for library staff to learn how to better serve patrons
- Explore ways to collaborate with local schools, businesses, organizations and other libraries.
