Greensburg, In. — The Greensburg Community Bread of Life Board of Directors are pleased to announce the purchase of the Meyer Building directly behind our current location. Bread of Life has been looking to expand for some time, and we were thrilled to have the opportunity to acquire a location so close to our long-term home at 700 East Randall Street. The new building will provide immediate storage relief for the thousands of pounds of food rescued by the organization every month.
In 2011, Bread of Life partnered with Gleaners Food Bank, allowing the organization to receive donations of excess food that might otherwise go to waste from local businesses such as Walmart, Aldi, and Thrive Market. Bread of Life also regularly utilizes unused food from Greensburg Community Schools, KB Foods, Pizza Hut, and Subway in the service of our clients. We are extraordinarily blessed to live in such a generous community, where we receive such an incredible level of support.
The purchase of the Meyer Building is a critically important step in the advancement of the mission of Bread of Life, which is to fight hunger in our community by providing a free, nutritious meal to anyone in need; provide a safe haven, where all are free of judgment; and help those in need, in the hope that they will in turn give back to the community. “We left it in God’s hands to meet our needs and He never disappoints when you wait on His guidance.
