Greensburg Boys Soccer Poured in Five Goals Against the Knights

The Greensburg boys soccer team poured in five goals Thursday night in their conference opening match at South Dearborn. A hat trick by senior Cy Miller included the final two goals of the night in the Pirates’ 5-4 win over the Knights. Miller scored early on an assist by junior Ethan Smith. Smith found the net moments later to give the Pirates a 2-0 lead. The Knights would level the score before halftime on a pair of goals. Early in the second, the Knights struck again to take a 3-2 lead. Smith scored again, this time assisted by sophomore Jacoby Miller. Cy Miller scored twice more to put the Pirates ahead for good. Cy Miller’s seventh career hat trick ties Grayson Newhart’s all-time career record. He is also the third Pirates soccer player ever to score 100 points in his career, joining Newhart and Tyler Burcham. The Pirates (1-1, 1-0 EIAC) are back on the pitch Saturday at Union County. The match begins at 10 a.m.
