Laughery Valley FOP receive $30,000 for Cops and Kids

GREENDALE, Ind. — Greendale Police say the Cops and Kids program, operated by the Laughery Valley Fraternal Order of Police, in 2016 received over $30,000 in donations and grants to provide clothing and toys for 283 children.

The program, formerly known as Shop with a Cop, involved police officers shopping with young children and their families.

On December 10, 2016, officers from Dearborn County Sheriff’s Dept., Lawrenceburg Police Dept., Ohio County Sheriff’s Dept., Aurora Police Dept., Hidden Valley Lake, Dillsboro Police Dept., Indiana State Police, Greendale Police Dept., Dearborn County Explorers and Retired officers that are members of the Local FOP shopped with 283 children.

On December 10th and two days following the main shopping day, $30,573.63 was spent at Walmart for the 283 children.
