Glen Kelley, 83

Glen Kelley, age 83, formerly of Batesville, IN, passed away on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 in Leesburg, FL. He was born in Cincinnati, OH on September 4, 1938 to Russell and Esther Kelley (Keith). Growing up, his family owned and operated the Bel-Air Drive-In, located in Versailles, IN.

Glen graduated from Napoleon High School and went on to pursue his bachelor’s degree in secondary education from Indiana University.

After graduating from IU, Glen met Janet Weber, and they were married on November 25, 1961. Glen’s early career was teaching Social Studies and Physical Education as well as coaching basketball and baseball. He then pursued a career in real estate, and eventually switched to selling insurance at the Batesville State Bank. After the bank was sold, he started a real estate appraisal business.

in additon to his wife, Janet Kelley he was also preceded in death by his parents Russell and Esther Kelley, his brother, Ivan Kelley, his sister, Janet Chorpenning, and grandson, Jacob Davidson.

On December 4, 2010, Glen married Jacqueline (Copeland) Kelley. He and Jackie took the trip of their dreams to Ireland in the summer of 2018.

He is survived by his wife Jackie, of Leesburg, FL and three daughters, Kimberly (Bill) Vest, Amy (Mark) Johnson and Sharon (Scott) Davidson, all of Batesville. He is also survived by his grandchildren Emily Vest, Elizabeth (Joe) Moore, Laura Vest, Tyler (Lyndsey) Johnson, Hannah (Eric) Wickersham, Curtis Davidson, and Derek Davidson along with two great grandsons, Bradley Davidson and Cooper Moore.

Glen Enjoyed spending time with his family, going on family vacations, watching IU basketball, woodworking, and poker nights with his friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Meyers Funeral Home in Batesville with services immediately following at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery (Huntersville) in Batesville.
