The following are girls junior high basketball recaps from February 26 and 28
Batesville’s seventh grade defeated North Decatur 47-15.
For the Bulldogs, Ellie Westerfeld had a game-high 10 points. Teammates Leigh Hertel and Ella King both added eight. For the Chargers, Sarah Moeller led her team with eight points.
Batesville also won the eighth grade game 24-16. BMS racked up 18 offensive rebounds.
The Dogs leading scorers were Grace Walter with 12 and Reesa Zimmerman with 10. On the Charger side, Jo Whitaker posted nine points.
The Batesville seventh grade nearly shut out East Central, 42-2. Ella King’s 14 points led the way. Teammates Mimi Smith and Sydney Campbell scored 11 and eight respectively.
The St. Louis seventh grade also had a big win, knocking off St. Mary of Greensburg 41-4. It was 27-2 at halftime. The Cardinals Gina Grote had a game-high 15 and Belle Young put in 10.
The St. Lou eighth grade beat St. Mary 32-21. Rachel Suttman’s 17 points were tops for the Redbirds. Cora Roth followed with eight.
