George Poole, 83, of Moores Hill was called home to his creator and to be reunited with his beloved wife of 50 years, Kay Poole, passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at St. Elizabeth Dearborn Hospital in Lawrenceburg. He was born in Ripley, Ohio on September 30, 1937 the son of Mike and Mable Howell Poole. George married Kay Jett on November 14, 1964 in Ripley, Ohio and she preceded him in death on January 10, 2015 after 50 years of marriage. Survivors include one son: Derek and his wife Lindsay Poole of Redondo Beach California, two grandchildren Quincy Kay Poole and Walker Joseph Poole and one brother Marion Poole of Ripley, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. Mr. Poole was a 1955 graduate from Ripley High School. He was a retired Model Maker/ Designer for Hill-Rom for 29 years before retiring and owner-operator of Accu-Form Plastics for 25 years. George loved spending time with his grandkids either in person in Indiana, California or on Face Time. He also enjoyed watching high school basketball/football, cooking barbeque and making funnel cakes for the community. George loved taking care of his land and various animals over the years and spending time with his family and friends. Mr. Poole was a member of the Moores Hill Church of Christ and also served his country in the Marines from 1955-1959. George’s wishes were to be cremated. Visitation will be Saturday, October 15, 2022 from 5pm at the Moores Hill Church of Christ with a celebration of life at 6pm. The Moores Hill American legion will conduct Military Rites at the church as well. The Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles is in charge of arrangements.
