Gary P. Martin, 83, of Aurora, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2022, in Lawrenceburg, Indiana.
He was born September 5, 1938, in Cincinnati, OH, son of the late Harold Martin and Margaret (Bickers) Martin.
Gary served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps.
He worked as superintendent and project manager in construction throughout his life.
He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
Gary loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and he would often travel to Wyoming to hunt. He also made an annual trip to Georgia, just for the peaches,(lol). He enjoyed watching sports and westerns on television. He was an animal lover, especially his dog Arlo. His favorite pastime, however, was time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Gary is survived by his loving spouse of 62 1/2 years, Charlsie (Lankford) Martin, children, Kimberly Martin, Holli Miller, and G. W. Martin all of Aurora, IN; sisters, Sharon Hilton of Cincinnati, OH, Pam (Don) Ellis of DesMoine, IA; grandchildren, Bradon (Kaylee) Perkins, Tiffany Miller, Austin Miller, Olivia Miller, Kyah Martin and Bailee Martin; great-grandchildren, Weston, Adrielle, Ari, Brock, Kober, Branch, Leighton and Harrison.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Jo Ann Hartley.
Friends will be received Friday, March 25, 2022, 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, 219 Mechanic Street, Aurora, IN.
Services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 12:00 pm.
Interment will follow in the River View Cemetery, Aurora, Indiana. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Southeastern Indiana Honor Guard.
