Eddie Wayne Turner

Eddie Wayne Turner, 84, of Aurora, Indiana, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.

Eddie was born in Owsley County, KY on January 8, 1938, a son of the late Arch and Reba (Williams) Turner. The family moved to Indiana when he was 3 years old. He was a 1956 Moores Hill High School graduate and attended Purdue University School of Engineering for 1 year. He worked at Fernald, Campbell Hausfeld, American Power Equipment and retired from a sales position at Cementech.

He was a leader in the Christian Service Brigade for many years and a member of the Aurora First Baptist Church. He loved serving the Lord in many capacities as Sunday School Superintendent and teacher, deacon, elder, trustee and front door greeter. One of his great joys was witnessing for his Lord and Savior.

His favorite hobby was anything to do with antique cars. He loved helping his sons with their Camaros and spent many hours restoring his Model T’s and driving his Model A. His favorite pastime was spending time with all the family.

Eddie married his high school sweetheart, Patricia Ann Scudder on June 28, 1957, just short of 65 wonderful years. She survives along with their 3 children, Tamara (William) Dixon of Milan, IN, Marcus (Heather) Turner of Lawrenceburg, IN, Jonathan (Leigh) Turner of Dillsboro, IN; eight grandchildren, Rebecca (Cory) Franklin of Burlington, KY, Andrew (Carissa) Dixon of Armington, IL, Jason (Kaleigh) Turner of Lawrenceburg, IN, Christopher Turner of Aurora, IN, Rachel (Logan) Nichols of Olathe, KS, Michael Turner of Arlington Heights, IL, Caitlyn (Tyler) Kruse of Jacksonville, FL, Austin Turner of Dillsboro, IN; 8 great-grandchildren, Colt, Paxton & Lilly Franklin, Drew Dixon, Ava Knaus, Boston & Liam Turner, Harper Turner; brothers, Daniel & Herb Turner; Sister, Anna Workman; brother-in-law, Michael (Paula) Scudder.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arch and Reba; and siblings, Harold, Larry, Maxwell and Geneva Turner.

Friends will be received Friday, March 25, 2022, 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the First Baptist Church, 6060 Blair Road, Aurora, IN 47001.

Services will be held at the church on Saturday at 11:00 am.

Interment will follow in the Mt. Sinai Cemetery, Aurora, Indiana.
